A traditional bone broth recipe with herbal options and boosters. Adapted from the wonderful Sally Fallon. A nutritious supportive broth for the change of the seasons. The ritual of sipping broth brings slowness into the nesting fall season.
Bones ~ marrow bones,knuckles,chicken feet
Carrots, ribs of celery, onion, 1/2 cup or so Apple Cider Vinegar
Immune ~ astragalus, elderberry, reishi, turkey tail, shitake, chaga, rosehips, ashwaganda, turmeric root Mineral dense ~ nettles, kombu, reishi, burdock, shitake
Intestinal healing ~ calendula, plantain, burdock, turmeric root
Others ~ Schizandra berries, Marshmallow root, raspberry leaf
Roast Bones at 425 until browned ( for flavor)
Soak bones in slow cooker with pure water and APCV for one hour
Bring to low boil, add dense herbs, boosters, and veggies
Simmer for 12-48 hours adding lighter herbs after 1/2 cooking time. Being mindful of water level Good for about 1 & 1/2 weeks in fridge. Enjoy & Nourish Yourself!
